Diane Tomb is a seasoned trade association CEO and strategic public policy leader with a proven track record of guiding organizations through transformation. Skilled in building, leading and mobilizing teams shaping public policy and achieving positive business outcomes across complex and evolving environments that strengthen communities.
Most recently Diane served as Chief Executive Officer of the American Land Title Association (ALTA), Where she redefined the industry’s national voice by launching the award winning “Our Title is Protection” awareness campaign which highlights the value of the title industry. She forged groundbreaking alliances with AARP and the FBI to protect consumers from various forms of real estate related fraud. She advocated legislation supporting housing affordability, cybersecurity, and protecting property rights. She co-founded the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation (AGDF) and served as President of AGDF. Since it’s inception in 2020, AGDF has raised and awarded over more thank $1.2 million to 211 nonprofit organizations across the country.
Previously, she was the founding President of the National Rental Home Council (NRHC), where she established the organization as the definitive voice for the single-family rental industry. Her tenure was marked by rapid membership growth, industry standardization, thought leadership, and effective public policy outcomes at both the state and federal levels.
Diane also served as President and CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), where she led a post-recession turnaround that revitalized membership, expanded revenues, and elevated the national policy profile of women-owned businesses.
Tomb has extensive experience in public service at the state and federal levels. She served in the White House and was confirmed by the United States Senate as the assistant secretary of public affairs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She also served on a successful California gubernatorial race and a successful Florida Senate race.
Tomb has been recognized as one of the most influential people shaping policy by Washingtonian Magazine in 2024, Irish America’s Business 100 list (2025) and HousingWire’s Women of Influence (2017).
A respected thought leader and public speaker, Diane is a member of the Economic Club of Washington, the International Women’s Forum and the Metropolitan Club of Washington D.C. She previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University.
